학과목적
국제통상학과는 급변하는 세계 통상환경 속에서 적극적으로 이에 대응하기 위하여 이론과 실무를 모두 섭렵한 통상 전문가를 길러내고자 개설되었다. 이는 우리 학교의 건학이념인 성실하고 창조적인 인재의 양성 목적에도 부합되어지는 한편 교육 목적인 창조적이고 진취적인 인재의 양성과도 일맥상통하는 것으로써 우리나라 미래를 짊어질 핵심 인재를 키우고자 하는 목적으로 설립되었다.
학과목표
국제통상학과는 다극화되는 세계경제질서와 국제통상환경에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있는 전문인력의 양성을 목표로 한다. 이를 위하여 쌍무간의 통상관계뿐만 아니라 다자간 협상과 FTA 등 경제통합 과정 속에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 문제들에 대하여 정책적으로 대처할 수 있는 마인드의 함양과 이론적·실무적 능력을 겸비한 국제통상 및 무역전문가를 육성하는데 그 목표를 두고 있다.

- 내국인 학생과 외국인 유학생들의 비율을 적절히 구성하여 학생들의 국제적 감각을 함양시킨다.
- 글로벌 국제통상환경에 맞추어 FTA 등 복잡한 통상정책 전문 연구 교육기관으로 성장시킨다.
- 산·학·관 연계를 통한 현실적이고 실제 적용 가능한 국제수준의 교육시스템 및 기능을 갖춘다.
